One of the things that aggravated me about my previous house was the lack of outlets. With todays proliferation of devices requiring power plentiful outlets are a necessity to avoid powerstrips everywhere. Not that powerstrips are a bad thing (as long as you aren't overloading the circuit that is!), it's just that I prefer them out of site if I must use them. This is one of the things that drove me to 600 amp service was that by code you could only have a limited number of outlets on circuits and i put a lot of outlets in my house. I separated lighting circuits (typically 15 amp circuits) from outlet circuits (20 amps). I also insured that neutral wires were run to all switches lights by the electrician for home automation purposes.
